BayernKI resources have been available at LRZ and NHR@FAU for one year now for research purposes. Additionally, users were able to take advantage of numerous training opportunities at the two responsible centers, LRZ (Leibniz Supercomputing Centre) and NHR@FAU. One year has since passed, but how has the service been received?
It’s about time to reflect on the journey so far and the perception of the offerings at the universities. The state-funded infrastructure has quickly established itself as a key AI platform within Bavaria’s research landscape, offering about 300 GPUs—or, more precisely, NVIDIA H100 processors with 94 gigabytes of HBM2e memory.
